OleMiss365.com is proud to announce its Mississippi High School Game of the Week Series. Every Friday night throughout the 2026 Mississippi high school football season, we will highlight one, prospect-heavy game to cover and return with analysis of the game’s top players.
Our coverage team for this endeavor includes Mike Espy, Shedrick McKenzie, David Johnson and Daylan Flowers.
“We are excited about this endeavor,” said Johnson. “We believe we have some of the best talent evaluators in this state and some mighty fine writers, too, who can logically confer to the reader what they are seeing on the field.
“Every Sunday throughout the season we will announce that week’s destination and put forth a preview of the players in the game, as well as postgame coverage and analysis of the top performers’ display that Friday night.
“With Shecrick McKenzie in South Mississippi, Mike Espy in the central part of the state and Daylan and I up north, we feel like we have the entire state covered to pick the absolute best game each and every week.”
The first 365 Mississippi High School Game of the Week will be Aug. 21, when the state’s private schools open their seasons. The Mississippi public schools open the next week,
