Ole Miss signee Jaida Civil, a former McDonald’s All-American, with Coach Yo’ on her recent visit.
And then there were none…at Tennessee. The last remaining player that could have returned to Kim Caldwell’s Lady Vols squad will be wearing the Red and Blue of Ole Miss. Jaida Civil, a 6-0 guard, has signed with head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s squad out of the transfer portal, joining former Tennessee teammate Talaysia Cooper at Ole Miss, who signed with the Rebels last week.
Tennessee lost all eight of its roster’s returners to the transfer portal. Cooper and Civil should arrive to the Ole Miss campus in June.
Civil, a former McDonald’s All-American, brings three years of eligibility with her to Oxford. She averaged 6.4 points per game for Tennessee as a freshman during the 2025-2026 season. She reeled in 4.0 rebounds per game. She started nine games for the Lady Vols as a freshman, including games versus Alabama, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Ole Miss. She scored two points in the Lady Vols’ loss to the Rebels in Oxford and logged 10 minutes on the floor.
McPhee-McCuin recruited her heavily out of her high school in Vero Beach, Fla.
Civil took her official visit to Ole Miss last week.
She joins Cooper, Rachel Okokoh, Maya Anderson, Knisha Godfrey and Emily Howard as the sixth portal player to sign with the Rebels during this cycle.
The Ole Miss women have advanced to five straight NCAA Tournaments under McPhee-McCuin.
WHY OLE MISS?
Civil spoke with OleMiss365.com about her decision.
“I chose Ole Miss because I think Coach Yo is a good coach,” Civil told OleMiss365.com. “I think she’s a great coach and I just think the place there fits me. I think it will be a great new journey.
“I think she’s going to use me any way she needs. That’s what I told her. As long as I’m on the floor and I can impact the team.”
YO SAYS…
“Jaida is a star in the making,” said McPhee-McCuin. “I recruited her hard out of high school so I’m happy that we are able to reunite! She’s a fierce competitor and has all the tools to be a future pro! The Oxford community will love her! We got better today!”
