Ouch! That’s all that can be said about Trinidad Chambliss and last year’s revoked invite to the Manning Passing Academy, an event held annually by the famed Manning family, which is run by Ole Miss and NFL greats Archie Manning and Eli Manning, and Tennessee and NFL legend Peyton Manning.

That is correct. Chambliss was invited to the 2025 edition of the Manning Passing Academy, but that invitation was revoked by the Manning’s.

No worries. All is well. Chambliss accepted his invitation to this years camp, and has been working and tutoring young passers this week in Thibodaux, La.

We’ll let Archie Manning explain.

“We’re glad to have Trinidad with us this year,” Archie Manning said. “You know I invited Trinidad to the Manning Passing Academy last year. I had heard about him. He was a little quarterback at Ferris State. So, I invited him. He accepted. And I did something really bad. We had Austin Simmons, who was going to be the starter at Ole Miss. I had him coming…I invited him. And I didn’t need two from a school. Charlie Weis Jr. kind of helped me uninvite Trinidad to the Manning Passing Academy, and I wanted to make sure we invited him this year. We had to have him. Fine young man.”

Archie Manning deserves credit for accepting that responsibility and gets an A+ in the accountability department.

Chambliss also deserves credit for accepting the admitted slight. After all, Simmons was the expected starter before Chambliss rose to the top of college football.

“So I did have the invite, but then you can’t have two Ole Miss quarterbacks coming,” said Chambliss for this year’s Manning Passing Academy. “I completely understand. It was a bummer I couldn’t come, but it’s all good. I’m glad I’m here now. I got the invite…super pumped to be here. Great to be honored as a member of the Manning Passing Academy.”

All’s well that ends well.
