It did not take long for Oxford (Miss.) High School offensive lineman Ford Wade to call his shot after home called just a few weeks ago. The 2027 prospect committed to the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday afternoon.
Wade measures in at 6-4 and 300 pounds, Though he plays offensive tackle in high school, he understands he is destined for the interior on the next level. He expects to play center or guard in college.
“I’d say I’m center-guard size, so I’m definitely going to play in there. I get a good amount of reps at center for my high school team, and I like playing center a lot. I snap and do all sorts of drills throughout the week. I’ll be prepared,” Wade said.
He chose Ole Miss over North Carolina State. Nebraska, Navy, UNLV, Charlotte, South Alabama and others.
He was recruited by Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison.
“I’d say I have a great relationship with him,” said Wade. “I’m good friends with him. I’ve talked to him a bunch.”
He plans to take an official visit to Ole Miss this summer before making any decisions.
