The red-hot Ole Miss Rebels will battle the Texas Longhorns (39-10) in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Softball Tournament today at 4 p.m. CT in host city Lexington, Ky. This marks the second consecutive season that Ole Miss has represented in the quarterfinal round.
The 13th-seeded Rebels (34-23) advanced here via a 4-1 win over Tennessee on Wednesday and a 2-0 victory against South Carolina on Tuesday.
The No. 4 seed Longhorns will see their first action of the SEC Tournament after receiving byes in the first two rounds. No. 14-seed Auburn plays No. 3-seed Florida at 10 a.m. CT today, followed by 7-seed Arkansas and 2-seed Alabama at 1 p.m. CT. Following the Ole Miss/Texas game at 4 p.m. CT, will be the final quarterfinal game from Lexington between 9th-seed Georgia and No. 1-seed Oklahoma at 7 p.m. CT.
All of Thursday’s action will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
Friday’s semifinal round will be carried live on ESPN. If Ole Miss defeats Texas on Thursday, the Rebels would play the winner between Georgia and Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. CT Friday. Saturday’s championship game is set for a 4 p.m. CT start on ESPN.
