Ole Miss slugger Madi George

Ole Miss softball freshman Madi George has been named to Softball America’s final 2026 individual player rankings, as announced on Monday.

George was named the No. 58 player in the nation in the final rankings of the season. George has been a mainstay among the nation’s best since debuting in February, earning several individual ranking recognitions throughout the year.

The recognition comes on the heels of being named an NFCA All-American and earning freshman All-America honors from both Softball America and D1Softball.

Additionally, the Leander, Texas native was named an NFCA All-South Region first team and All-SEC second team honoree. George was also tabbed as top-10 finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award and earned national and SEC freshman of the week honors this season.

George had a breakout debut season as a Rebel, batting .379 with 23 home runs, 63 RBI, 27 walks and 10 doubles. George broke several single single-season records at Ole Miss, including home runs, RBI, total bases (150) and slugging percentage (.824). Her 23 home runs were also second in all of the SEC, behind only NFCA National Freshman of the Year Kendall Wells.
