Today is Ole Miss legendary quarterback Archie Manning’s birthday. Archie turned 77 years old today.
The father of two other great QBs, his son Eli Manning followed in his dad’s steps to Ole Miss, as did his wide receiver son Cooper. While Cooper’s career was cut short, he went on to produce Archie’s grandson Arch, who is the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns. Eli is one of small handful of NFL QBs to win multiple Super Bowl MVPs and is a candidate for the NFL Hall of Fame.
Son Peyton Manning chose Tennessee and went on to become a Volunteers’ legend and NFL great.

What Archie accomplished at Ole Miss is legendary and he went on to build a long NFL career with the New Orleans Saints before becoming a journeyman in the latter stages of his career.
Manning has had some health issues of late, undergoing surgery in February,
“I still have a long road ahead,” Manning shared at the time. “But I believe in healing — through patience, through faith, and through the incredible support and prayers from all of you.”
Manning manages severe physical effects from a long football career, including neuropathy, collapsed discs, and numerous surgeries.
