Curne’s legal troubles in Arkansas seem to have dissipated, awaits Rebs’ response

Carius Curne

Hours after Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding was asked about it at a Monday press conference, all charges were dropped against transfer portal offensive lineman Carius Curne after a weekend run-in with law enforcement in his home state of Arkansas.

Curne, who started five games at right tackle for LSU in 2025 before bolting to Ole Miss, was charged with fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, improper lane change and possession of a Schedule VI substance of less than four ounces ;ate Saturday afternoon in Crittenden County, Ark.

Prosecutors dismissed the three drug charges and the improper lane change charge on Monday. Curne pled ‘no contest’ and paid fines exceeding $2,000 on the remaining charges, per court records closing the case on the legal side.

Golding addressed the situation with media on Monday hours before it was settled.

“Obviously, it’s a legal matter. We’re still gathering information,” Golding said. “So, really can’t speak on that right now. But we’ll let the legal process run its course and see what happens.”

It remains to be seen what if any disciplinary action Curne will face from the Rebels.
