Women’s tennis falls to Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 32 Ole Miss Women’s Tennis team fell, 4-0, against No. 1 Georgia on Thursday night at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Ole Miss (6-2, 1-1 SEC) could not keep up with Georgia (7-1, 2-0 SEC) as the Bulldogs came out and stole the doubles point to start things off.

In singles, Georgia rode its momentum, winning three straight courts to clinch the match. 

The Rebels put up a strong effort on courts two and four in singles; Alice Soulié won her first set against No. 41 Deniz Dilek, 6-1, and Riley Crowder won her first set against No. 91 Patricija Paukstyte, 6-3. Both matches went unfinished.

Ole Miss will continue its road stretch, for it heads to Columbia, South Carolina, to face No. 17 South Carolina on Saturday at 12 p.m.
