Following a sensational athletic and academic career, Ole Miss women’s tennis senior Emily Welker has been selected as a College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American, as announced on Tuesday.

Welker becomes the ninth Rebel in program history to earn CSC/CoSiDA Academic All-American honors, the first since Caroline Rohde-Moe in 2014.

A native of Limbach-Oberfrohna, Germany, Welker ends her career with one of the most accoladed single seasons in program history.

She became the 14th All-American in the program’s history. In the fall, she competed in the NCAA Singles Championships where she was seeded 9-16 but would finish in the Final Four. Her play in the fall gave rise to a season-high No. 6 rank in the ITA singles rankings for the spring.

Throughout the spring, Welker remained in the top 22 nationally in singles throughout the remainder of the season while compiling a 26-7 overall singles record, including eight wins against ranked opponents, which was highlighted by a victory against Arkansas’ No. 23 Caroline Gomez Alonso.

In doubles, she competed in the NCAA Doubles Championships alongside her partner Andrea Nova; there, the pair finished in the Second Round of the tournament. Welker and Nova would stay paired up in the spring and become a vital piece for the Rebels, for the duo accumulated a 24-7 overall doubles record, including a season-high ranked win against Vanderbilt’s No. 6 duo of Celia-Belle Mohr and Sophia Webster in the second round of the SEC Tournament.

Welker and Nova finished the season with an ITA Doubles Ranking of No. 6 on April 30, 2026. Her impact for Ole Miss was then also recognized by the Southeastern Conference as she was named to the 2025-26 All-SEC Second Team.

Welker has recorded a 3.97 GPA while pursuing her public health graduate degree. She is one of just two student-athletes in the SEC to earn honors, joining Vanderbilt’s Bridget Stammel.

In addition to her academic All-American honors, Welker also earned All-District honors earlier this season.
