NORMAN, Okla. – Cohen Trolio and Tom Fischer have both been named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, announced Monday afternoon by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.20.
Trolio concluded the year with a 3.37 GPA while majoring in general business. The West Point, Mississippi, native competed in all 13 tournaments for the Rebels, posting a 71.14 stroke average across 36 rounds. In his final season at Ole Miss, he recorded two top five finishes, four top 10 finishes, and seven top 20 finishes. He also produced 22 rounds of par or better, and 17 rounds under par.
Fischer also wrapped up his Ole Miss career with an outstanding senior campaign, finishing with a 3.56 GPA as a general business major. He earned PING All-America Second Team, Golfweek Men’s College Golf All-America Second Team, and All-SEC First Team honors after leading the Rebels with a 70.06 stroke average over 36 rounds, which is the fifth-lowest single-season average in program history. Fischer posted 28 rounds of par or better, tied for the third-most in a single season at Ole Miss, while recording four top five finishes, five top 10 finishes, and 11 top 20 finishes throughout the year.
They both played a key role in helping the Rebels capture their first SEC Championship in 41 years, defeating Florida 4-1 in the match play finals.
