Transfer Makhi Frazier calls Ole Miss RBs group ‘best room in the country’

Transfer portal running back Makhi Frazier believes he has joined an exclusive club at Ole Miss. The Michigan State transfer says he is part of the best running back room in America as a Rebel.

But first, why did Frazier, who was Michigan State’s leading rusher in 2025, decide to finish his career in Oxford?

“I grew up watching SEC football like my whole life,” said the McKinney, Texas, native, who has one season left on his college eligibility calendar. “I always wanted to be a part of it. Being able to come to a program like Ole Miss, being able to elevate my game…It helps me get better with guys in the room like Kewan (Lacy). I can grow off of him and really just embrace the opportunity that I have every day.”

Frazier rushed for 520 yards and two touchdowns for the Spartans in 2025, averaging 4.48 yards per carry. Due to injuries, which he has completely recovered from, he only played in nine games.

While Lacy is the billed returning star, Frazier isn’t alone among newcomers in the running backs room with high expectations heading into the 2026 season. LSU transfer JT Lindsey and Southern Utah stud Joshua Dye are also turning heads this spring.

Dye rushed for 1,831 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2025 for FCS Southern Utah. Lindsey was a highly-coveted running back who signed with LSU in the 2025 class.

“I think it’s the best room in the country,” Frazier deadpanned. “All those guys are pretty good, Every day it’s good to see who wants to be consistent. We show up every day to compete, to see who can do the best every day and push each other.”
