Texas has dropped two straight games by identical 27–24 scores, and the Longhorns now have to regroup before facing Ole Miss. Against Florida, Texas built a 17–3 lead but struggled to sustain its offense after halftime, managing only one first down over a stretch of more than 24 minutes.

Quarterback Arch Manning completed 14 of 20 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown against the Gators. He helped spark a late scoring drive, but a fumble on Texas’ final possession ended the comeback attempt. After two close losses, taking care of the ball and keeping drives alive will be central to the Longhorns’ response.

Ole Miss arrives in Austin after a 31–3 win over Missouri. The Rebels held the Tigers to 39 rushing yards and finished with 483 total yards. Trinidad Chambliss threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns, then added a rushing score. Kewan Lacy and Makhi Frazier combined for 223 rushing yards.

That balance gives Ole Miss several ways to challenge Texas. The Rebels can lean on the ground game while Chambliss looks to build on his four-touchdown performance. Texas will need to limit explosive plays and keep Ole Miss from controlling the game’s pace.

The matchup is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. CT in Austin on ABC. Texas will be looking to stop its losing streak and find consistency on offense; Ole Miss will try to carry its momentum from the Missouri win into a tough road game.
