The Southeastern Conference released their preseason media polls and all-conference teams on Friday, selecting Ole Miss to finish third in the SEC standings while handing the Rebels eight individual preseason all-SEC honors.
Ole Miss was predicted to finish third in the preseason poll by the media, while Georgia and Texas were selected at first and second, respectively. Following the Rebels in order, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, and Missouri rounded out the top 10.
The trio of quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy, and defensive lineman Will Echoles were selected to the preseason all-SEC first team. Kicker Lucas Caneiro earned a spot on the preseason all-SEC second squad at both kicker and kickoff specialist, while linebacker Suntarine Perkins was selected to the second team as well. Earning third team honors for Ole Miss was offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and defensive lineman Kam Franklin.
Coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance a season ago, the Ole Miss football team is set to kickoff the 2026 season on Sunday, September 6 against Louisville at 6:30 p.m. CT at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
