Ole Miss baseball remained hot on the recruiting trail, as class of 2028, Casteel, Az., left-hander Evan Hedlund committed to Mike Bianco’s Rebels on Wednesday.
Perfect Game provided the following scouting report on Hedlund: “Evan Hedlund (’28, AZ) is a unique left-hander where there are intriguing traits to the delivery and stuff and he stood out across multiple looks this summer. He works from a drop-and-drive operation where he’s an athletic mover down the mound, creating pace and extension with a loose, easy arm that works to a lower launch. Can run the heater up to 90 with both run and firmer 4S looks. His mid-70s SW is the separator with huge lateral action and legit swing-and-miss vs. both sides, and the CH adds another quality look with depth and feel, giving him a deceptive and well-rounded arsenal.”
