Scouting Report
Ben’Jarvius Shumarker is one of the most productive and disruptive defensive line prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, combining size, power, and relentless effort at the point of attack. At 6’3”, 286 pounds, the Choctaw County High School (MS) standout has already established himself as a dominant interior presence and a player capable of impacting every phase of the defensive front.
Shumarker’s production speaks for itself. Recording 113 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks, he consistently lives in opposing backfields. His ability to defeat blocks quickly and penetrate gaps creates chaos for offenses. With 30 quarterback hurries, he shows he doesn’t just collapse the pocket — he consistently pressures quarterbacks and disrupts passing rhythm.
What stands out most on film is his explosiveness off the ball and heavy hands. Shumarker fires off the line with leverage and power, allowing him to control offensive linemen and shed blocks efficiently. He plays with strong pad level and uses his frame well to anchor against double teams while still having the agility to pursue laterally.
