RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – After the opening two rounds to begin the spring, the No. 15 Ole Miss women’s golf team sits in fifth place at the Puerto Rico Classic. The Rebels posted (566, -10) with a trio of players finishing in red numbers Sunday.
Kajsalotta Svarvar leads the way for Ole Miss at five-under after rounds of 69 and 70. After an opening bogey to start the day, she would rattle off birdies on four of her next five holes. She closed her opening round shooting even par on the back nine.
Round two would also start with an early bogey but the sophomore bounced back with three more circles over her final 14 holes. Svarvar sits tied for eighth heading into the final round.
Matilda Björkman was solid in her first spring start posting four-under through two rounds of action. After grinding out a round of one-under 71, she would post three-under 69 in round two. Björkman now has six rounds in red figures on the season and is T12 with 18 holes to play.
Mary Miller is also under-par through 36 holes at two-under.
Sophie Linder, Nicole Gal and Filippa Sundquist all grinded out over par scores at Grand Reserve Golf Club. Sundquist bounced back after a tough round one, tying her career-low 18-hole score of four-under in round two.
Round three will begin at 5:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
