Sources tell OleMiss365 that the Rebels will host portal interior lineman Malachi Breeland on an official visit beginning Sunday and lasting through Monday. Beeland, a native of Laurel, Miss., entered the portal on Dec. 22, from the Memphis Tigers. He was a redshirt sophomore who would be a junior with two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
Ole Miss, though, won’t be his first visit. Breeland began an official visit to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday and is there through the end of Saturday. This visit bears watching, as his former head coach at Memphis, Ryan Silverfield, is now the head coach at Arkansas.

Breeland stands 6-5 and tips the scales at 325 pounds. He started every game for Memphis during the 2025 season. As a redshirt freshman in 2024, he played in 10 games with seven starts for the 11-2 Tigers. As a true freshman in 20230, he appeared in two games and made one start versus Iowa State in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
A former standout at Laurel (Miss.) High School in the 2023 class, Breeland was a three-pop prospect rated as the nation’s No. 93 interior offensive lineman and the No. 25 player in the Magnolia State. Breeland played for his instate team in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Classic following his senior season at Laurel.
Breeland dod not hold an offer from the Rebels coming out of high school, though Memphis, Texas, Missouri, Tulane, Southern Miss, Troy, Arkansas State and others did pull the trigger.
Ole Miss is looking at Breeland to play a guard position.
The NCAA transfer portal officially opened Friday. This year’s calendar features just this one formal transfer period, which stays open through Jan. 14.
