Patrick Ryan Jr. says Ole Miss is near the top after offer

2030 wide receiver Patrick Ryan Jr. poses during his Ole Miss game-day visit, where he received an offer from the Rebels and moved Ole Miss near the top of his list.

Patrick Ryan Jr.’s game-day visit to Ole Miss brought a new offer and strengthened his interest in the Rebels. Wide receivers coach Pat Carter offered the 2030 prospect before kickoff, and Ryan said Ole Miss is now near the top of his list.

“Knowing you never have to worry about the quarterback position at Ole Miss puts more responsibility on the wide receivers to get open and make plays,” Ryan said. “Having confidence that the quarterback will get the ball there is huge.”

Ryan and his family also spent time talking with Carter and L’Damian Washington about his goals and future. Those conversations helped him picture the kind of mentorship he could receive in Oxford.

“They know and understand everything that I’m going through and will go through in the future,” Ryan said. “Who better to be mentored by than people who have accomplished what you aspire to do?”

The atmosphere left a strong impression, from walking through The Grove to seeing the stadium filled for a white-out game. Ryan said fans welcomed him and made him feel part of the Ole Miss family.

He also connected with receiver Deuce Alexander II, whose film Ryan’s father often encourages him to watch. Ryan said they have similar qualities and hopes to work with Alexander during the offseason. Alexander and his father, RouteKing, treated him like family during the visit.

“Offers are cool, but to have a real relationship with the staff who checks on you is more important to me,” Ryan said. “Football is family.”

Ryan said he can see himself becoming a Rebel and looks forward to returning to Oxford to learn more about the program and work with Alexander and the staff.
