Paris to Oxford: Ole Miss adds international spark with signing of Léna Thomas Iglesias

The global reach of Ole Miss women’s tennis continues to expand — and the Rebels may have landed one of the more intriguing international additions in the 2026 class.

On Wednesday, Ole Miss officially announced the signing of French standout Léna Thomas Iglesias, a rising talent out of Paris who brings proven ITF experience, high-level international competition, and a polished all-court game to Oxford this fall.

Iglesias arrives with a World Tennis Number of 17.9 in singles and 19.2 in doubles, alongside a career-high ITF ranking of No. 126 — numbers that reflect both consistency and experience against elite junior competition across Europe.

For a program that continues to recruit with an SEC-meets-global vision, Iglesias feels like another calculated addition built for the grind of college tennis in the nation’s toughest conference.

The Paris native has already stacked impressive international results during her junior career, collecting 28 singles victories and 28 doubles wins on the ITF circuit while also capturing two ITF doubles tournament titles. Her résumé reflects versatility — a player capable of extending rallies from the baseline while also thriving in aggressive doubles play.

That balance matters in the SEC.

Ole Miss has consistently looked for competitors who can handle physical singles battles while also delivering valuable doubles points in pressure moments. Iglesias checks both boxes. Her international background should also help ease the transition into high-level collegiate tennis, where match toughness and adaptability often separate impact freshmen from developmental pieces.

From a stylistic standpoint, Iglesias projects as a player who can bring steadiness and composure to the Rebel lineup. Players with extensive ITF experience often arrive battle-tested, already accustomed to travel, pressure environments and long tournament stretches — traits that translate well once conference play arrives in Oxford.

The Rebels continue building a roster with championship-level depth, and the addition of Iglesias adds another layer of international flair and competitive edge to the program heading into the fall season.

In today’s era of college tennis, recruiting globally is no longer a luxury — it’s part of competing at the top of the SEC.

Ole Miss just added another piece to that blueprint.
