The Ole Miss women’s basketball team moved up one spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week to No. 16 nationally. The Rebels are currently 14-3 overall and are off to a 3-1 start in conference play.
NO RESPECT?
Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin said her team is not getting the national respect it deserves after her team beat the daylights out of Mississippi State on Sunday. Couple that effort with a narrow three-point loss at No. 4 Texas eight days ago and an upset of No. 13 Oklahoma last week, and she might be right. Oklahoma and Kentucky (Ole Miss has not played yet) are both ranked higher by the Associated Press this week.
The Rebels return to action on Sunday at Georgia. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. CT. Ole Miss and Georgia met earlier this season at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion in Oxford with the rebels taking a decisive, 79-62, victory.
