Ole Miss is a projected No. 5 seed in Tuesday’s Women’s College Basketball Bracketology. That means the Rebels are no longer projected tom host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament inside Oxford’s Sandy and John Black Pavilion.

Last week the Rebels were projected as a No. 4 seed and as a host for the tourney’s first two rounds. But after four games in seven days versus nationally-ranked opponents and assembling a 1-3 record over that brutal stretch, Ole Miss is predicted to be on the road for the Big Dance.

But the rebels have two more regular-season games to prove their hosting worthiness plus a trip to the SEC Tournament.

Ole Miss is projected as a No. 5 seed playing in the Regional at Columbus with No. 4 seed Ohio State hosting. Ole Miss is predicted to play 13-seed Louisiana Tech in Round 1. Ohio State would play 12-seed Miami (Ohio) in the other first-round game in Columbus. The winners would meet with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.

It was obvious that the Rebels simply ran out of gas at the end of last week’s four-games-in-seven days guantlet.
