Ole Miss standouts take center stage at 2026 NFL Scouting Combine

The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is officially here; five former Ole Miss football players are poised to showcase their skills in front of NFL coaches and scouts. Defensive tackle Zxavian Harris, offensive tackle Diego Pounds, wide receivers De’Zhaun Stribling and Harrison Wallace III, and tight end Dae’quan Wright have all worked diligently to prepare for this pivotal moment in their careers.

A Historic Season for the Rebels

The Rebels had an unforgettable run during the last college football season. With a remarkable record of 13-2 and a College Football Playoff (CFP) berth, Ole Miss finished third in the AP poll—its highest ranking since 1962. This success not only showcased the talent on the field but also set a strong foundation for its standout players as they transition to professional football.

Defensive Dominance: Zxavian Harris

Leading off is defensive lineman Zxavian Harris, who was instrumental in revamping Ole Miss’s defense after nine starters were replaced from one of the nation’s top units in 2024. In his senior year, he recorded 58 tackles and nine tackles-for-loss—tied for fourth-most on his team. Additionally, he contributed three sacks and even intercepted a pass. The Rebels’ defense allowed just 21.1 points per game this past season—a testament to Harris’s impact on that side of the ball.

Harris will be among the first athletes to showcase his skills during on-field workouts today at 3 p.m. ET as part of the defensive linemen group.

Protecting The Quarterback: Diego Pounds

Offensive tackle Diego Pounds made significant strides during his time at Ole Miss after transferring from North Carolina. Over two seasons with the Rebels, he started in 24 games and earned recognition as a third-team All-SEC selection in 2025. His ability to protect quarterbacks and create running lanes has been crucial for an offense that ranked high nationally in passing yards.

Pounds will take center stage during Sunday’s workout session at 1 p.m. ET alongside other offensive linemen.

A Dynamic Receiving Duo: De’Zhaun Stribling & Harrison Wallace III

The wide receiver position saw significant enhancement with transfers De’Zhaun Stribling from Oklahoma State and Harrison Wallace III from Penn State joining forces in Oxford. Their contributions were vital to an aerial attack that ranked third nationally with an impressive average of 313.3 passing yards per game.

Stribling led Ole Miss with six touchdown receptions while securing second place on the team with 55 catches totaling 811 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Wallace emerged as a key target leading with 61 receptions and racking up an impressive 934 receiving yards.

Both receivers will display their talents together on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET during workouts designed specifically for quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs.

Versatile Tight End: Dae’quan Wright

Tight end Dae’quan Wright has also made headlines throughout his career at Ole Miss over two seasons where he demonstrated versatility and skill catching passes downfield. In his final season in Oxford, Wright achieved career-highs with five touchdowns and a total of 635 receiving yards earning him second-team All-SEC honors.

Wright will be showcasing his abilities tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET alongside other tight ends—a critical opportunity to impress potential suitors ahead of the draft.
