Ole Miss set to get visit from FSU WR Jayvan Boggs

As Pete Golding and his staff gear up for their next challenge in the CFP semifinals, they are also navigating the whirlwind of college football’s transfer portal. Just two days into its opening, prospects are already on the move, seeking new destinations. With the Rebels making a strong run this season, it’s no surprise that many players have their sights set on Oxford.

Ole Miss will get the first chance to make a play for former FSU wide receiver Jayvan Boggs. However, they’ll face stiff competition from LSU, Penn State, and Missouri. Mizzou could be the stiffest contender since Boggs was initially committed to them before switching to Florida State.

The former four-star and 2x Max Preps All-American from Coco High School in Florida, Boggs was one of the standout receivers in the 2025 recruiting cycle, amassing impressive career totals of 4,363 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns. He was expected to be a significant asset for the Seminoles and had all the makings of an elite pass catcher at the collegiate level. Unfortunately, like many top athletes, he faced numerous injuries that hindered his ability to fully showcase his talent. During his time in Tallahassee, he recorded limited action with just 11 receptions for 103 yards and one touchdown.

From what I have seen so far, Boggs is a receiver who excels at gaining yardage after the catch. His route-running skills are exceptional; he has a knack for outmaneuvering defensive backs with his sharp cuts and keen understanding of leverage. Additionally, his field of vision allows him to evade tacklers effectively.

Now that Boggs has regained his health, he’s on the lookout for an opportunity where he can revitalize his receiving career. Given his potential and skill set, it’s unlikely he’ll remain on the market for long; I wouldn’t be surprised if a deal is finalized sooner rather than later. But for now the Rebels will shoot their shot!
