The Ole Miss men’s basketball program has extended a scholarship offer to Kelvin “Pop” Anderson, a highly regarded 2028 guard from Virginia Beach, Virginia, the prospect announced Monday.
Anderson, a 6-foot-2 combo/shooting guard currently listed with Brewster Academy (previously Petersburg High School), posted on social media: “Blessed to receive an offer from Ole Miss !!!”
The offer adds the Rebels to a growing list of Division I programs targeting the young prospect. Anderson already holds offers from schools such as Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Norfolk State, East Carolina, La Salle, Mount St. Mary’s, Radford, and others.
A rising junior in the Class of 2028, Anderson has drawn early attention for his athleticism, playmaking ability, quickness, and scoring instincts. As a freshman, he averaged approximately 13 points, six rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Recruiting rankings place him as a solid mid-major to high-major prospect, with evaluations highlighting his size for a guard and decision-making.
Ole Miss, under head coach Chris Beard, continues to build its recruiting pipeline in the competitive SEC landscape. The Rebels’ interest in Anderson signals an effort to secure versatile backcourt talent for future classes.
Anderson has yet to narrow his list of schools or announce any official visits related to the Ole Miss offer. He previously expressed interest in programs including Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Penn State, and Louisville, while naming North Carolina as a longtime dream school.
The offer remains the latest development in Anderson’s recruitment as he continues to develop ahead of his junior and senior high school seasons.
