Ben Henshall
Ole Miss basketball got some huge news Thursday.
Ben Henshall has officially been cleared by the NCAA and granted another year of eligibility, giving Chris Beard and the Rebels a major boost.
The decision means Henshall won’t be just a one-year addition in Oxford. Ole Miss now has the talented Australian guard for two seasons.
Henshall brings something different to the Rebels’ backcourt. At 6-foot-6 and 200 pounds, he has good size for a guard along with professional experience from his time playing in Australia.
He averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists last season with the Perth Wildcats and has also represented Australia internationally.
For Beard, this is big beyond just the upcoming season. Henshall has a chance to develop into an important piece of the Ole Miss backcourt while giving the Rebels some much-needed continuity going forward.
Ole Miss wanted Henshall for more than one season.
Now the Rebels officially have him.
