Yes, we know the Ole Miss Rebels will enter the 2026 season with two legitimate Heisman Trophy candidates in quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy. Both may the best at their positions in the college game.
Fan fever is at an all-time high, as Ole Miss is coming off a 13-2 season in which the Rebels reached the national semifinals of the College Football Playoffs.

Can they do something similar again?
Yes.
Ole Miss may be deeper at every position on the field on both sides of the football. That’s a general snapshot of the roster.
They have the nation’s best kicker, whom Pete Golding can probably call upon for three points anywhere in plus territory. All Lucas Carniero did last season was set bowl records in every one he played in, including the Sugar Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl.

They have a guy who many are saying has the potential to be the first defensive tackle off the board in next year’s NFL Draft. His name is Will Echoles and he is the anchor of a defensive front talented enough to be two-deep in general and maybe even three-deep in certain spots.
There are stars at linebacker in Suntarine Perkins and tansfers Keaton Thomas and Luke Ferrelli. All three own All-SEC and even All-American potential.

Suntarine Perkins
The secondary has been rebuilt through the transfer portal.
Back to the offensive side of the ball, Lacy has help in the running backs room, as the Rebels turned to the portal. With him are capable and proven transfers Makhi Frazier (Michigan State), Joshua Dye (Southern Utah) and JT Lindsey (LSU).

At receiver, Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest) and Caleb Cunningham are joined by top transfers Johntay Cook (Syracuse), Traylon Ray (West Virginia), Horatio Fields (Auburn), Darren Gill (Syracuse) and Cameron Miller (Kentucky). There are also young guys like Dillon Alfred and Samari Reed in the room.
The offensive line is anchored by Brycen Sanders at center, along with transfers Carius Curne (LSU), Tommy Kinsler (Miami) and Terez Davis (Maryland), who were all said to have had a good spring.
In summation, Ole Miss owns a roster loaded with superstar talent.
The schedule, though…ah the schedule. We’ll take a look at the opponents soon…
It is tough.
