
Ole Miss basketball got some good news this morning regarding guard Illias Kamardine. The NCAA approved a waiver granting the French native another year of eligibility, the news was first reported by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress on Friday.
Kamardine is in the midst of his first season with Ole Miss, averaging 11.3 ppg and 3.9 apg, Kamardine has been a starter for Chris Beard throughout much of the season.
Kamardine played professional basketball in France for four seasons before committing to Ole Miss in 2025, adding to the growing trend of talented French players making the a name for themselves in the United States. Chris Beard gives much credit to assistant coach Brian Burg for scouting and assisting in the commitment of Kamardine last offseason. The 22 year old began playing professionally at 18 years old, averaging 8.0 ppg his final season in France.
Kamardine recently scored 26 points against LSU this past week, giving Ole Miss fans a glimpse of hope for what next season can bring with a big addition returning. Ole Miss has not had the year that fans had hoped for, the Rebels have lost ten straight games, tying them in last place in the SEC with South Carolina.
Ole Miss will travel to Auburn Saturday, February 27 to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ct.
