Ole Miss defensive coordinator Patrick Toney has left the building. Toney is reportedly leaving Oxford to become the defensive pass game coordinator for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
Toney was hired by Ole Miss on Jan. 7. of this year. His tenure lasted less than two months with the Rebels.
Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding hired Toney from the Arizona Cardinals where he served as defensive backs coach for the past three seasons. Golding and Toney worked together at Southeastern Louisiana in 2012-13 and at Texas-San Antonio in 2016-17.
Ole Miss will now begin the work to replace Toney.
The Rebels finished the 2025 season ranked No. 3 nationally and many believe they will be a preseason top five team in 2026.
