TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss men’s tennis continued action at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships on Sunday, with four Rebels earning victories at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Sophomore Vlado Jankanj opened the day with a straight-set victory over Indiana’s Benjamin Pomerantes, 6-3, 6-3, in the Round of 128. Jankanj advanced to the Round of 64, where he faced Penn’s Shaurya Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj claimed the match, 7-5, 6-3.
Senior Moritz Kudernatsch also advanced through the Round of 128, battling past Wisconsin’s Thomas Zlatohlavek, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0. Kudernatsch continued into the Round of 64 against Dayton’s Kyle McNally, falling in a three-set battle, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
Pietro Pampanin earned a three-set victory in the Round of 128, defeating Kentucky’s Rafael Ymer, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, to advance in the championship draw.
In consolation action, Kai Milburn picked up a dominant straight-set victory over Tulsa’s Brett Gloria, 6-4, 6-0.
Ole Miss will continue competition at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships throughout the week in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
