TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 28 Ole Miss men’s tennis team is set to open its NCAA Tournament campaign on Friday, May 1, with a first-round match-up against No. 33 Clemson in the Tucson Regional.
After the Rebels (19-9, 6-8 SEC) came away with the No. 2 seed in the Tucson Region, the team will now begin its tournament run with a match against Atlantic Coast Conference foe, Clemson (16-12, 8-5 ACC). Friday’s match is set for 12 p.m. CT at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
With an opening-round victory, Ole Miss would advance to play the winner of the regional between host Arizona (21-4, 8-0 Big 12) and Northern Arizona (18-5, 7-0 Big Sky) on May 2 at 3 p.m. CT for a shot at Super Regionals.
Tickets for the match will be priced at $10 upon entry. Doors for the match will open at 9:00 a.m. MST. Live video and live stats will be available on the schedule page on olemisssports.com once competition begins.
Clemson has faced a plethora of talent this season, with a handful of matches being against SEC opponents. The Tigers went a combined 1-3 in those matches, which featured LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, and Florida.
Clemson also features some ranked talent in both doubles and singles, beginning with singles No. 41 Viktor Markov and No. 47 Romain Gales. In doubles, the Tigers have two ranked pairings, No. 24 Noa Vukadin and Markov, then No. 59 Marko Mesarovic and Henrik Bladeius.
