Ole Miss has landed one of the top defensive prospects in the country as four-star defensive lineman Mitchell Turner of Louisville announced his commitment to the Rebels. Ranked as the No. 5 defensive lineman in the nation, Turner gives Ole Miss another elite talent in its recruiting class and a player with tremendous upside at the next level.
Turner is coming off a dominant season in which he recorded 103 tackles, 15.5 sacks, and 41 tackles for loss, establishing himself as one of the most disruptive defenders in high school football. His ability to overwhelm offensive linemen, collapse the pocket, and make plays behind the line of scrimmage has made him a coveted prospect by programs across the country.
At 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Turner combines size, power, and athleticism with a relentless motor that allows him to impact games in a variety of ways. Whether defending the run or rushing the passer, he consistently plays with aggression and intensity, traits that have helped elevate him into the nation’s elite at his position.
Turner’s commitment is a major recruiting victory for Ole Miss as the Rebels continue to stack talent on the defensive side of the ball. Landing a player of his caliber reinforces the program’s ability to compete for some of the nation’s top prospects and adds another cornerstone piece to the future of the Rebels’ defense.
With one of the country’s premier defensive linemen now headed to Oxford, Ole Miss continues to build a recruiting class capable of competing at the highest level of college football.
