RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The No. 15 Ole Miss women’s golf team secured their fifth top four placement of the season Monday with a T2 finish at the Puerto Rico Classic. The Rebels posted (847, -17) with Kajsalotta Svarvar and Mary Miller both placing inside the top 15 individually.
Ole Miss had the second lowest team round of the day (281, -7) behind No. 10 Vanderbilt who posted nine-under. It marks back-to-back second place finishes for Kory Henkes and the Rebels at the Puerto Rico Classic.
Svarvar was brillant again for Ole Miss with another round of three-under 69. Her fourth-place finish marked her third top five across five events this year.
Mary Milller played well on Monday with a round of two-under 70 to finish T13. The Savannah, Georgia native now has four straight finishes inside the top 20 dating back to the fall.
Sophie Linder also posted three-under 69 in the final round and finished at two-under for the tournament. Linder was the only Rebel on the day to card a bogey-free round.
Nicole Gal shot one-over par, Matilda Björkman was three-over and Filippa Sundquist was five-over in the final round.
Ole Miss ranked third in par 3 scoring, third in par 4 scoring and second in par 5 scoring on the week.
Nicole Gal (46) and Mary Miller (43) had the most pars of any player in the field. Miller had the fewest bogeys among all players with just two across 54-holes.
The Rebels will return home and prep for the Moon Golf Invitational Feb. 15-17 in Melbourne, Florida. Suntree Country Club will be the site of the event with Louisville to serve as the host.
