It’s game day, Rebels, and the moment of reckoning has arrived for our Ole Miss Rebels. One family that has a lot to look forward to is the Lacy Family. Just yesterday, the elder Lacy, Gerald, officially signed on to join the Rebels for next season. This evening, his younger brother Kewan aims to continue being a formidable force in the Rebels’ run game as they prepare to take on Miami in the CFP semifinal Fiesta Bowl, just one game away from a National Title appearance.
I had the opportunity to catch up with Gerald Lacy Jr. earlier today to discuss his commitment to the Rebels and the excitement of reuniting with his younger brother.
Gerald’s football journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but wherever he has played, he has made the most of every opportunity. He expressed what it means for him to have this chance in the SEC: “I’ll just say i’m really excited for this great opportunity and ready to get to work!”
The Texas native shares a strong bond with Kewan, and now they will not only share a love for the game but also play together in the same backfield. “It means everything, something we’ve always been doing and love doing together.”
One thing is certain: when there’s a Lacy on the field, you can expect them to show up and deliver until the job is done. Gerald is no exception; he is eager to bring his all for the Rebels: ““I believe i’ll be able to bring relentless energy to team while being able to create takeaways!”
As he embarks on this new chapter in his journey, tonight he will focus on watching his future team alongside Kewan as they strive for victory—a feat many thought might never happen. Gerald believes that success hinges on performance upfront: “I think the key will be where the battle starts.”
While he didn’t specify a score prediction, he remains confident in what both his brother and their team can achieve tonight: “I don’t really have one; I just want the Rebels to come out on top 1-0 today!”
Get ready, Rebels! The 2026 season promises to be an exciting year for the Lacys in Oxford!
