Golding wants Rebs fully focused on Florida Gators in latest Top 25 battle

Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding is done with LSU.

He made that perfectly clear on Wednesday during the weekly SEC teleconference.

“I know everybody else had that [LSU] game circled. I mean there’s nothing about winning a game in September that makes your season, so I think our focus is prepare really hard week in and week out,” Golding told reporters on Wednesday. “What’s that look like at the end of the year?”

No. 4 Ole Miss (3-0) is a slight underdog versus No. 21Florida (3-0) this week. Kickoff from Gainesville is set for 2:30 p.m. CT. The contest will be televised on ABC.

“This is what have you done for me lately business, so we can read all the press clippings, go back and watch the tape again, pat ourselves on the back, but (Jon) Sumrall and Florida don’t give a shit about any of that,” he added. “They’re going to be ready to play, they’re really well coached, they’ve got really good players. So if our focus isn’t on ourselves, on preparing really well in order to be able to execute at a high level then you’re not going to like the result.”
