Future Rebels set for UA All-America game

While everyone’s attention is on the transfer portal and the upcoming Fiesta Bowl showdown for Ole Miss, several future Rebels are set to take the field today at the annual UA All-America Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM ET at Spec Martin Stadium in Deland, Florida.

This game is one of two postseason events showcasing the nation’s top talent, featuring 100 blue-chip prospects from the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes. Among them are three future Rebels who will be competing this afternoon.

2026 Signees

Dorian Barney: 4-Star CB | Carrollton HS (GA)

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 180 pounds, Barney hails from powerhouse Carrollton High School (GA), where he was initially committed to Michigan before flipping to Ole Miss. With over 50 offers under his belt, he was one of the most sought-after cornerbacks in this recruiting cycle. His impressive athleticism translates not only onto the football field but also onto the basketball court, making him a versatile addition to Ole Miss’s secondary.

The Disrupter
Barney possesses an uncanny ability to disrupt opposing plays—especially when it comes to intercepting screens. He has a relentless drive for big plays and a knack for making game-changing interceptions. His instinctual understanding of the game allows him to anticipate quarterbacks’ moves with remarkable accuracy, combined with explosive speed that enables him to break on passes effectively.

His man-to-man coverage skills are exceptional; he mirrors opponents seamlessly and quickly analyzes their strategies. Not only does he have impressive speed, but he’s also incredibly physical in his play style. His commitment to tackling makes it difficult for receivers to get past him. By playing low and refusing to back down, Barney ensures he remains tough in matchups. While there are still areas where he can improve, his elite cornerback skills position him as an early impact player for Ole Miss.

During his commitment, Barney shared with me what really stood out about the Rebels’ recruitment of him “How they never stopped even when I committed to Michigan. The Ole Miss staff respected my decision but didn’t give up on me.”

Ultimately persistence and perseverance paid off.

Damarious Yates: 4-Star RB | Kemper County, MS

As we like to say, the best talent in the Sip stays in the Sip. Damarious Yates is a standout running back who truly excels in the zone read and shines as both a receiver and returner. It’s no surprise that he set a Mississippi record with an impressive eight rushing touchdowns in a single game during his senior year, accumulating over 5,000 career yards of offense.

Yates has a natural ability to break off big plays, thanks to his keen instincts that help him quickly identify running lanes and get outside. Beyond his evident speed, his physicality stands out as a significant asset. He runs with power and never shies away from contact, using his strength to gain those extra yards whenever possible.

Looking ahead, Yates will add another dynamic, powerful back with vision and speed to the Ole Miss running back room under Frank Wilson. His skills are sure to make an impact for the Rebel RB room.

2027 Commit

Jamarkus Pittman | 4-Star DL | MASE (TN)

Jamarkus Pittman is the first and only commitment for Pete Golding in the 2027 class, and Rebels fans have every reason to be excited about this future trench warrior. Hailing from the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, Pittman isn’t just any recruit; he’s ranked as the No. 28 overall athlete in the nation, making waves as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 3 overall athlete in Tennessee.

Standing tall at 6-foot-5 and weighing in at a solid 300 pounds, Pittman chose Ole Miss over powerhouse programs like Florida, Florida State, and Boston College. Last season alone, he made quite an impression with an impressive stat line that included 8 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and a total of 43 tackles. With his junior season on the horizon, fans can look forward to even more explosive performances!

Given his robust physical frame and immense untapped potential, it’s no surprise that numerous programs were eager to secure this exceptional talent early on. However, it was Ole Miss that emerged victorious in landing Pittman’s commitment. From my quick scout here are some of the seperators for me in Pittmans trench game:

  • Quick-Twitch Get-Off Skills: His explosiveness off the line is truly remarkable.
  • Dominance at the Line of Scrimmage: He consistently controls play.
  • Double-Team Command: Pittman has shown he can handle double-teams while breaking through blocks.
  • Solid Technique: His developing pass rush ability complements his already strong run defense.
  • Footwork & Leverage: He excels at maintaining gaps while stunning and shedding blockers.

After committing to Ole Miss, Pittman shared with me why he believes “the Sip” is the place to be: “Because the program and coaching staff are dedicated to developing you for success at the next level. We can win a national championship here!”

Good luck today, gentlemen!
