Madi George
Ole Miss softball freshman Madi George has added another honor to her growing list of achievements, as she was named a first team freshman All-American by D1Softball on Thursday.
The award comes on the heels of a similar freshman All-America nod by Softball America and her biggest accomplishment so far of a second team NFCA All-America nod by the NFCA on Wednesday. George not only became the first Rebel freshman to be named an All-American on Wednesday but now becomes the first Rebel to ever sweep freshman All-America nods from both D1Softball and Softball America.
The All-America honors are on top of several other awards earned in 2026 by the Leander, Texas native, as George was also named an NFCA All-South Region first team and All-SEC second team honoree. Additionally, George was tabbed as top-10 finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award and earned national and SEC freshman of the week honors this season.
George had a dynamic debut season as a Rebel, batting .379 with 23 home runs, 63 RBI, 27 walks and 10 doubles. George broke the single-season records at Ole Miss in home runs, RBI, total bases (150) and slugging percentage (.824). Her 23 home runs were also second in all of the SEC, behind only NFCA National Freshman of the Year Kendall Wells.
