TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss men’s tennis opened competition at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships with four Rebels earning victories in the Round of 256 on Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Senior Moritz Kudernatsch was the first Rebel to advance, defeating Georgia’s Maxim DuBouch, 6-2, 6-3. Kudernatsch controlled the match from the start, dropping just five games across the two-set victory.
Sophomore Vlado Jankanj followed with a dominant performance against Liberty’s Benjamin Sparks. Jankanj cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory, surrendering just two games in the second set to move on to the Round of 128.
Senior Mason Landreth also picked up a straight-set win, defeating Georgia’s Eudald Gonzalez, 6-2, 6-4. Landreth took control early and held off Gonzalez in the second set to secure his spot in the next round.
Sophomore Pietro Pampanin rounded out the day for the Rebels with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Ashton Adesoro. Pampanin dropped just four games in the match to advance alongside his three teammates.
With the four victories, Ole Miss placed four singles players into the Round of 128 at one of the premier collegiate tennis events of the fall.
Ole Miss will continue action at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships on Sunday in Tulsa.
