I know that is pretty much the last thing on everyone’s mind. Has there been any word on that, or will it be an after the playoff thing? I know the other sites threw some names out there, but I do not know if that is still the case. Once upon a time, teams would wait until the annul coaching convention in mid January. Does that still happen?

In the old days, the AFCA convention was a place for a lot of face to face job interviews. With modern technology, that might not be the case now. I used to attend it yearly as a high school coach. It was fun being in the same sessions as the guys you saw roaming the sidelines on tv. But that was in the days when big time coaching salaries were tame compared to today.

The playoffs will most likely have to play out, so around Jan. 19 or soon after. There is a but, however. Caching vacancies are going fast this time of the year. If Pete has his eyes on someone, he may have to make a move soon.
