Former Rebel pitcher now pitching coach at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. – Central Arkansas Head coach Kayla Lucas has announced a new addition to her coaching staff, hiring Catelyn Rileyhto lead the Bears’ pitching staff. Riley brings in pitching experience from the SEC, as well as time in player development across the southeast.
 
Riley played three seasons at Ole Miss, followed by a graduate transfer season at Alabama. She held a 2.91 ERA over 386 innings, striking out 235 batters and posting 35 wins in the circle. Riley had two seasons of double-digit wins during her career, winning 12 games as a freshman and 11 as a senior. The Dandridge, Tenn., native also did some work at the plate across her four seasons, batting .309 in 139 at bats.
 
Since her playing days, Riley spent time as a graduate assistant at Alabama, helping support a team that won 56 games and advanced to the College World Series. As a graduate assistant, she helped with scouting and game film, along with administrative help with travel and operations. Riley also spent time in her native Tennessee working at Base Knox Athletics as an instructor, teaching the intricacies of pitching at hitting.
 
Riley joins a Bears team that is moving to the United Athletic Conference in 2027, after five successful seasons in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Lucas and the Bears finished the final season as members of the ASUN with a 36-20-1 record and a runner-up finish in the ASUN Championship.
