OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss will have one of the nation’s premier young defensive prospects on campus Saturday.
Five-star 2028 edge rusher Asher Ghioto is scheduled to visit for the Rebels’ matchup against Georgia. The visit gives Pete Golding’s staff an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with a nationally recruited defensive target.
Ghioto, who attends The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, is listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. He recorded 84 tackles, 35 tackles for loss and 23 sacks last season, establishing himself among the top edge prospects in the 2028 class.
Georgia is also recruiting Ghioto. Following a September visit to Athens, he indicated that increased communication and time with Kirby Smart strengthened his connection with the Bulldogs. His presence in Oxford adds another recruiting storyline to Saturday’s matchup.
For Ole Miss, the visit provides valuable time to explain Ghioto’s potential fit in Golding’s defense while giving him a firsthand look at the atmosphere inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 7, on ABC.
