Mason Miller-Smith, Broderick Sanders III, Malachi Royal, Ramaj Flowers and Kasen Anio will begin their freshman seasons already being recruited by the Rebels.
Louisiana high school football begins this week, and five members of the state’s 2030 class will enter their freshman seasons with something most prospects spend years trying to earn—an SEC scholarship offer.
Quarterback Mason Miller-Smith, defensive lineman Broderick Sanders III, defensive back Malachi Royal, wide receiver Ramaj Flowers and athlete Kasen Anio all hold offers from Ole Miss before playing their first official high school game.
The early offers show how aggressively head coach Pete Golding and his staff are evaluating Louisiana. Instead of waiting for varsity statistics and recruiting rankings, the Rebels identified five prospects through camp performances, workouts and early film.
Miller-Smith is a 6-foot, 155-pound quarterback from North DeSoto. The young dual-threat passer has already impressed college coaches with his arm talent, accuracy and ability to create plays outside the pocket. LSU and Tulane have also offered him.
Broderick Sanders III already looks the part of a future major-college defensive lineman. The John Curtis Christian prospect is listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, possessing the length, strength and frame to develop into a disruptive presence along the defensive front. Ole Miss, LSU and Texas A&M are among the programs that have offered him.
Central-Baton Rouge defensive back Malachi Royal brings another impressive frame to the class. The 6-foot-1, 150-pound cornerback has the length and athleticism needed to challenge receivers on the outside. His early offer list includes Ole Miss, LSU, Miami, Missouri and Vanderbilt.
Southern Lab wide receiver Ramaj Flowers is already 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. His size, catch radius and ability to play multiple roles make him one of Louisiana’s most intriguing young offensive prospects. Flowers earned his Ole Miss offer after competing in front of the Rebels’ coaching staff during camp.
Kasen Anio enters Zachary High School at approximately 6-foot-3 and 208 pounds. His size and versatility allow him to contribute at multiple positions, while his long frame gives him significant room for development. Anio also received his offer after performing at an Ole Miss camp.
All five players remain early in their development. Their positions could change, their bodies will continue to mature and their recruiting rankings will eventually follow.
The offers, however, establish them as five of the first names to watch in Louisiana’s 2030 class.
Ole Miss did not wait for freshman statistics or a full season of varsity film before entering their recruitments. Now, with Louisiana high school football beginning this week, Miller-Smith, Sanders, Royal, Flowers and Anio have their first opportunity to show everyone what the Rebels already saw.
Their recruitments are moving, but this week begins the evaluation that matters most—what they do under the lights against high school competition.
