Rebuilding in difficult times requires harnessing our inherent resilience to transform obstacles into the very foundations of a new beginning. As Gregory Williams poignantly expressed, “On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it.”
Our cherished community is currently grappling with one of its most daunting challenges, yet amidst this struggle, we witness the remarkable power of unity as individuals from both near and far come together, determined to piece everything back together, bit by bit. It is during these trying moments that we discover an undeniable beauty: even in the aftermath of tragedy, we find strength and solidarity when we unite. The Prieskorn family embodies this spirit; since their arrival, they have exemplified what it truly means to be great Rebels, both on and off the field.
Caden Prieskorn’s impressive record speaks volumes about his dedication—having caught 57 passes for 850 yards and seven touchdowns during his illustrious career at Ole Miss, spanning 23 games with 20 starts. He ranks third among all-time Ole Miss tight ends in receiving yards and has left an indelible mark on the program. Combining his time at Memphis, Caden concluded his collegiate journey with a total of 112 catches for 1,531 yards and 14 touchdowns across 52 games. Now navigating the competitive waters of the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, he continues to make strides in his professional career. Yet beyond these athletic accomplishments lies a deeper narrative of compassion.
In the midst of life’s most challenging moments, when adversity seems to cast its long shadow, Cali has emerged as a beacon of hope and resilience within our community. Her unwavering presence, alongside her husband and their beautiful children—who have grown before our very eyes—has created a powerful bond that resonates deeply with all of us.
Time and again, I find myself reflecting on the countless instances where Cali has harnessed her various platforms to uplift those around her, tirelessly advocating for the needs of our neighborhood and fostering a sense of unity among us. Just this week, she demonstrated her commitment once more through a simple yet profound gesture that encapsulates the spirit of giving and connection.
It is in these small acts that we see the true heart of our community shining brightly, reminding us that no gesture is too small when it comes to bringing people together. We felt it was essential to share these moments, illustrating how the Rebels—both near and far—are rallying together in support of one another during these times.
So, thank you, Cali, for your boundless care and compassion toward Oxford; your dedication does not go unnoticed and serves as an inspiration for us all.
