A change of scenery, previewing the 2026 Ole Miss wide receiver group

Ole Miss experienced a historic season offensively in 2025, dominating at every level, and a key part of the Rebel’s offensive success was an amazing group of receivers.

In 2025, five different players hauled in more than 600 receiving yards, led by Harrison Wallace with 934 yards. Of the five players, Deuce Alexander will be the only returning to Oxford, as Wallace, Wright, and Stribling have declared for the NFL draft. Alongside those players, Cayden Lee transferred to Missouri.

With Alexander being the only returning starter, a plethora of new faces are expected to help lead the Rebels offense, so who are these new pass catchers for Pete Golding’s first full season at the helm?

With spring ball quickly approaching, Rebel fans will have to learn a lot of new names and faces. Through the transfer portal, Ole Miss acquired six new pass catchers and will hope to see players like Caleb Cunningham also make an impact.

Deuce Alexander returns to the Rebels after a very strong first season in Oxford. Hauling in 684 yards, and two touchdowns the Georgia native showcased his big play abilities last season, and quickly became a favorite amongst Ole Miss fans. Alexander’s quickness, route running, and great hands made him a sight to see last season.

Along with the return of Alexander, there will be some familiarity in the tight end room with Caleb Odom and Luke Hasz hoping to be great successor’s for Dae’Quan Wright. Odom entering his second second in Oxford transferred from Alabama after one season with the Crimson Tide, but played a vital role in many games for the Rebels last season. Coming in at 6’5 215lbs, Odom’s size and elusiveness makes him a hard matchup for undersized cornerbacks, and for slower linebackers. Odom can be a headache for opposing defense’s that can’t compete with matchup properly. Odom will expect more production this season, as he finished with 197 yards and two touchdowns last season mostly sitting behind Dae’Quan Wright.

Luke Hasz will also be more prominent in production for the Rebels in 2026, the Arkansas transfer saw limited action last season dealing with a ankle injury throughout the majority of the season. Hasz will be critical for the Rebels as a run blocker and in the red zone, his lone touchdown came in the Sugar Bowl victory against Georgia. Hasz was regarded as one the best tight ends in the transfer portal in 2025, and at full health, Rebel fans can expect great things from him.

To add to the tight end room, Pete Golding added Brady Prieskorn and Michael Smith. Yes Rebel fans, the Prieskorn name should sound familiar as Brady is the brother of former Ole Miss tight end Caden Prieskorn. Transferring from Michigan, Prieskorn saw action mostly as a special teams player last year. With his size, Prieskorn may be play a similar role as Trace Bruckler did for the Rebels in 2025, coming in on fourth downs and in the red zone. The second tight end transfer for Ole Miss is Michael Smith, a four-star rated player in the portal, and was ranked as the no.5 TE in the portal this offseason. Smith’s quickness will be his biggest standout, creating a problem for defenders in short passing situations. Smith also saw limited action with South Carolina last season, but was highly touted in high school, ranking as a top 100 prospect in the country.

Darrell Gill Jr marks the top of the list for key receivers acquired in the portal, cumulating over 500 yards and five touchdown’s for Syracuse last season. Gill was a track runner in high school, so expect his explosive speed in the backfield to be something John David Baker utilizes this upcoming season. Along with Gill Jr, Ole Miss earned the commitment from Johntay Cook, also transferring from Syracuse. Cook’s speed alongside Gill will help Ole Miss be successful in the open field.

Returning home to the state of Mississippi is Isaiah Spencer, from Virginia Tech, Spencer also spent time at Jackson State University. Spencer had a quiet single season with the Hookies, his best number coming with the Tigers in 2024, hauling in over 600 yards in the air. Spencer is listed at 6’2 196, his ability to beat defenders on the line of scrimmage and finish big plays downfield are his best assets.

The most well-rounded receiver acquired in the portal is Horatio Fields, former Auburn and Wake Forest player. Fields ability to play in any position as a receiver will provide great success for the Rebels offense in 2026 if used correctly. Lastly, Kentucky transfer Cameron Miller brings in great versatility to the Rebels, and could be a key player in special teams.

2026 can be a marquee season if they develop and use their receivers properly, continuing to be in the mix of producing the top reciever talents in the country.
