Rebels use long ball to beat LA Tech

Ole Miss softball ended a three-game losing streak on Wednesday evening in Oxford, as the Rebels handed a good Louisiana Tech squad a 5-1 defeat. The victory pushed the Rebels record to 20-11 overall. Louisiana tech dropped to 17-11.

Taylor Roman started the scoring for Ole Miss in the bottom of the second when she launched a two-run homer deep into the Oxford twilight with teammate Cassie Reasner on base. The blast gave the Rebels a 2-0 lead heading into the third.

Continuing to play the long game, catcher Kennedy Bunker blasted a solo shot over the left-center wall to push Ole Miss ahead 3-0. Teammate Madi George followed Bunker’s blast with a two-run dinger in the same frame, giving the Rebels a comfortable 5-0 lead after three complete.
