South Carolina tops Ole Miss in battle of top 25 women’s golf squads

AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 17 Ole Miss women’s golf team fell 0.5-4.5 to No. 22 South Carolina Tuesday at the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play.

Sophie Linder secured the half point for the Rebels, tying her match against Vairana Heck. Needing a win at the 18th Linder did so making par to get Ole Miss on the board.

Kajsalotta Svarvar took on the No. 8 player in the WAGR rankings in Eila Galitsky, ultimately falling 6&5. Svarvar went 2-1 on the week in her three matches.

Mary Miller took her match to the 16th hole but fell 3&2 to Molly McLean. Larissa Carrillo battled until the end but dropped her match 1UP to Mia Sandtorv Lussand.

Ole Miss will return home and prep for the Clemson Invitational, March 27-29, in Sunset, South Carolina.
