The Ole Miss women will learn their NCAA fate on Sunday night along with the rest of the world. It still doesn’t keep everyone guessing where their team will land and who it might be playing.
One of the most educated guessers out there is ESPN’s Charlie Creme, who has the Rebels as a No. 5 seed in his latest bracketology. The destination: How about in the shadows of the nation’s capitol at College Park, Md.
Creme picks No. 5 Ole Miss to tangle with a No. 12 seed in the Rebels’ opening game in the Big Dance. Who will the Rebs be playing? The winner of a No. 12 versus No. 12 seed between Virginia of the ACC and Arizona State of the Big 12.
Host and fourth-seeded Maryland would battle No. 13 seed Miami (Ohio) in the Regional’s other first-round game.
THE PROJECTED FIELD

No. 5 Ole Miss | 23-11

Ten SEC teams are projected to make the NCAA Tournament. That number ranks second to the Big 10’s dozen predicted for the Big Dance field. The SEC teams are No. 8 Tennessee, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 5 Kentucky, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 2 LSU, No. 1 South Carolina, No. 1 Texas, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 6 Alabama and No. 7 Georgia. Four SEC programs are expected to host in LSU, Texas, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Ole Miss swept two games versus Vanderbilt and defeated Oklahoma in Norman this season for the three most impressive victories on its resume.’
