Ole Miss Baseball | First look at Nevada

Ole Miss baseball opens up the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 13, with a three-game homestand against the Nevada Wolf Pack. The first pitch Friday is set for 4 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

Ole Miss is coming off a regional loss last season to Murray State, as the team went 43-21 overall and 16-14 in SEC play.

Let’s take a look at the Rebels’ first opponent, the Nevada Wolf Pack.

Nevada comes into this season as the defending Mountain West regular-season champions and the favorite to repeat this season. Last season, Nevada went 34-23 overall and 19-11 in conference action.

The Wolf Pack returns four of the 2025 All-Mountain West first- team selections in Alessandro Castro, Jayce Dobie, Jake Harvey and Sean Yamaguchi.

Castro is a left-handed pitcher for the Wolf Pack, in which he started all 15 games and posted a 5-3 record with a 5.33 ERA with 43 strikeouts out of conference. In conference play, he posted a 4-1 record and a 4.39 ERA over 10 starts in the Mountain West.

Dobie is a senior right-handed pitcher who made an impact on the bump and at the dish for the Wolf Pack. He was second on the team at the plate with a .339 batting average, 15 doubles, seven home runs and 15 RBIs. On the mound, Dobie made 11 starts with a 2-2 record with a 6.07 ERA and 37 strikeouts over 43.0 innings.

Harvey, a senior catcher who last season led the team in walks with 38 and an on-base percentage of .440 at the plate, had a .312 average with 13 doubles, 19 RBIs, and 40 runs scored.

Yamaguchi, a sophomore infielder who as a freshman appeared and started in all 51 games and shared the team lead with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs with a .324 batting average and 13 doubles while scoring 51 runs.

Game two of the series will be on Saturday (1:30 p.m.) and game three on Sunday (1:30 p.m.), with each game on SEC Network +.
