Emilee Boyer in action versus Boise State
The Ole Miss softball team saw its early season record dip to .500 Friday afternoon at the Easton Classic, as the Rebels lost a heartbreaker to Boise State by a 3-2 score. Ole Miss carried a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth before the ship started to take in water.
Ole Miss broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the fifth when Tensly Grisham and Mackenzie Pickens each drove in runs to push the Rebels ahead 2-0. That lead, however, would not last for long, as Boise State answered with three of its own in the bottom half of the frame off Ole Miss starter Emilee Boyer (0-2).
BOX SCORE: OM 2 BSU 3 Final
Boyer did not pitch bad at all. She gave up just four hits and a walk in six innings of work, but the Broncos made the most of their opportunities.
Persy Llamas led Ole Miss at the plate with two hits in three at-bats.
The Rebels (2-2) will take the diamond again at noon CT Saturday in a single game versus Cal State Northridge.
