Second baseman Mackenzie Pickens in action Thursday night at Cal State Fullerton
Ole Miss sent celebrated Division II transfer Emilee Boyer to the circle in the 2026 season opener Thursday night in a 5-4 loss to Cal State Fullerton in the two teams’ opening game at the Easton Classic. The Rebels and Titans will begin game two of a sch3eduled doubleheader at approximately 9:30 p.m. CT.’
Boyer worked a complete game and carried a 2-0 lead into the third inning. But that’s when Fullerton started to chip away at last year’s D2 player of the year.
Boyer surrendered five runs on eight hits in six innings of work as her record dropped to 0-1. She did demonstrate great control, as she walked none. Fullerton scored one in the third and two in each of the fourth and fifth innings to overcome the 2-0 deficit.
